Where art meets purpose
At Chimaera, our goal is to create an approachable welcoming platform for artistic creation that connects people from all walks of life, across disciplines, generations. Chimaera functions as an interdisciplinary artists’ collective where young makers and experienced artists meet, and collaborate in the creation of new work.
Chimaera operates post-genre. At the heart of the collective’s practice lies the idea of performance as a living organism, where humans, natural environments and technological systems interact as artistic partners. By bringing elements of nature into urban contexts, Chimaera explores the tension between the artificial and the organic, the city and the landscape, the human and the more-than-human world. Living organisms are not treated as decoration, but as equal partners within the creative process. Contemporary and classical music, dance, performance, text and technology intertwine to form hybrid works that resist a single discipline or format.
Drawing inspiration from musicological, ecological and philosophical research, Chimaera reflects on themes such as eco-feminism, post-humanism, technological, ecology, and art as partners. At the same time, Chimaera aims to function both as a stage and a laboratory: a place where ideas can evolve, experimentation is encouraged, and artistic processes grow through dialogue between disciplines as well as between art and society.
Through these encounters, Chimaera hopes to cultivate a sense of community that transcends traditional boundaries and invites people from diverse backgrounds to engage with the social and ecological questions of our time. By bringing together different perspectives, experiences and forms of expression, the collective aims to spark meaningful conversations and inspire new ways of imagining the relationship between humans, nature and technology.
We invite you to be part of this journey and explore these intersections with us — a space where silent, medium and loud voices can coexist, where talent is nurtured and where artistic experimentation is welcomed. If you would like to connect with us, propose a new idea or simply share your story, do not hesitate to reach out.
